Deoxycholic acid is one of the secondary bile acids, mainly used in bacteriology and enzymology research. In addition, Deoxycholic acid and its salts have surface activity that can be used as safe and effective emulsifiers in cosmetics and medicines, with antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects. It can also be used for the treatment of sebaceous gland hypersecretion in dermatology.
